Our Mission - Make the Best Better
Our Motto - Learn By Doing

4-H Pledge
I pledge my head to clearer thinking,
my heart to greater loyalty,
my hands to larger service,
and my health to better living
. . . for my club, my community, my country and my world.

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.

4-H accepts enrollments year round so your family can get started right now.  There is no cost to join, no enrollment, membership or participation fee.  Some clubs collect dues which can be waived if these would prevent you from joining.

Congratulations Volunteers

We know our volunteers work hard throughout the year and our youth are enriched by their dedication, their skills and their commitment.  Did you know those hours have a dollar value, too?  This year, the government estimates the value of each contact hour to be just over $18.  Hernando County volunteers provided 94,645 contact hours giving us a value of $1,722,502.60.  If you add in other in-kind donations and money raised, Hernando County 4-H made a fantastic 1.8 million dollar impact on our community.

 4-H Champion

Congratulations to everyone who successfully showed, competed or participated in a project this year.  I am looking forward to seeing every one of your record books to demonstrate the COMPLETION of your project.  Those books should be here between May 31 and Aug. 1 to qualify for outstanding record keeping awards and project awards.  Everyone turning in a completed book with project report will earn their year pin.

Please join me in congratulating the following youth for earning the right to represent Hernando County at state events:

In horse we have:   Richie Costello, Taylor Johnson, Jenna Latimer, Jodee Latimer, Kayleigh Maines, Megan Ogburn, Brianna Stringer, Tiffany Undestad, and Ashley Ward.  Thank you Dorothy Blair and Jenna Undestad for all your leadership, training and volunteerism before, during and after the show.

In Public Speaking we have:  Cody Curabba, Kyle Curabba, Alexandria Gommier, Nathan McAndrew, Tia McAndrew, Brett Naugler, and Lindsay Partridge.  Thank you to all club leaders who encouraged youth to participate in County Events and those parents that got their youth to district events.  Good luck at state events.
